CFL eliminates full-contact padded practices

TORONTO – The CFL is disposing of full-contact cushioned works on amid the season and is stretching out its calendar to 21 weeks to help decrease the danger of damage.

The class and CFL Players Association made the joint declaration Wednesday.

The change is taking effect right now. Groups were already permitted to hold an aggregate of 17 cushioned works on following preparing camp.

In the NFL, clubs can have 11 cushioned practices over the initial 11 weeks of the season, a most extreme of one every week. From that point forward, clubs can have three more cushioned practices for an aggregate of 14 on the year.

Beginning one year from now, the CFL general season will be extended one week to 21, giving players more rest time between recreations.

Thus, each CFL group will have three bye weeks rather than two.
